TkRat is a graphical Mail User Agent (MUA) which handles MIME. It is mainly written in C, but the user interface is done in Tcl/Tk. The program currently understands UNIX mailboxes, POP, IMAP, and mh folders. Messages are sent via SMTP or any user configured program (sendmail, for example). It has support for disconnected IMAP operations.

Tkrat hat nun das Konzept von Offline-und Online-Modi. Der Ordner und Präferenzen Fenster wurden komplett überarbeitet und sind nun hoffentlich viel einfacher zu bedienen (auch wenn eine Menge Arbeit bleibt hier). Sie unterstützt jetzt auch IMAP/POP3 über SSH oder SSL. Support für Rollen wurde hinzugefügt, so dass Sie unterschiedliche Persönlichkeiten haben können, und polnische und portugiesische Texte wurden ebenfalls hinzugefügt.

The folder and preferences windows have been completely redesigned and are now hopefully much easier to use (although a lot of work remains here). It now also supports IMAP/POP3 over SSH or SSL. Support for roles was added, so you can have different personalities, and Polish and Portuguese texts were also added.

Ein paar Core-Dump Probleme in den PGP-Code, hängt einige mögliche in der ispell-Code und einige andere misc. Fehler wurden behoben. Sie stützt sich nun auf mehr modernen Linux-Systemen. Es gibt keine neuen Funktionen in dieser Version.
