Quassel IRC is a modern, cross-platform, distributed IRC client, meaning that one or more clients can attach to and detach from a central core, much like the popular combination of screen and a text-based IRC client, but graphical. In addition to this unique feature, it aims to be a comfortable chatting program.

Also new are editable shortcuts, shortcuts for navigation between chats, and emacs-style key bindings for the input line. The marker line can now be set manually, and one can jump directly to the marker line. Furthermore, this release adds support for Blowfish encryption, also known as mircryption, FiSH, or RFC 2045. Quassel now supports a full-screen mode and is available in Greek, Galician, and Japanese.

Zu den wichtigsten Features dieser Version sind eine komplett überarbeitete Client / core Verbindung mit langerwartete Wiederanschluss und eine solide Unterstützung. Ebenfalls aufgenommen wurde die Unterstützung für die neue DBus-basierte System-Tray von KDE und in einigen Distributionen mit GNOME (die StatusNotifier spec). Notification Handling bekam eine komplette Überholung. Quassel unterstützt jetzt verteilen Text formatiert. IRC-Authentifizierung wird nun durch SASL möglich auf Netzwerken, die diesem Ziel dienen (zB Freenode). Wie bei jedem Release etwa mehrere neue Sprachen und Übersetzungen für verbesserte bereits bestehenden hinzugefügt wurden.

Among the major features of this release are a completely reworked client/core connection featuring long-awaited reconnection and Solid support. Also added was support for the new DBus-based system tray of KDE and, in some distributions, GNOME (using the StatusNotifier spec). Notification handling got a complete overhaul. Quassel now supports inputting formatted text. IRC authentication is now possible through SASL on networks that support this (e.g. Freenode). As with roughly every release, several new languages and improved translations for already existing ones were added.

Diese Version enthält im Wesentlichen Build-System setzt den aktuellen Versionen von KDE und Qt. Einige Probleme mit netsplit Handhabung wurden ebenfalls behoben. Versehentlich versteckten Menüleisten können nun wieder aktiviert werden über das Kontext-Menü auf der chatview. Um workarounding den jüngsten Überschwemmungen Probleme mit Freenode, einen schnellen Weg zur CTCP Zugriffe ignorieren wurde hinzugefügt. (Obwohl seit Freenode bereits das Problem behoben, indem diese nicht mehr für jetzt erforderlich.)

This version mostly contains build system fixes for recent versions of KDE and Qt. Some issues with netsplit handling have also been fixed. Accidentally hidden menu bars can now be re-enabled using the context menu on the chatview. To workarounding the recent flooding issues with Freenode, a quick way to ignore CTCP requests was added. (Though since Freenode has already fixed the problem, using this should no longer be necessary for now.)
