Libao is a cross-platform audio library that allows programs to output audio using a simple API on a wide variety of platforms. It currently supports null output, WAV files, AU files, OSS (Open Sound System, used on Linux and FreeBSD), esd, ALSA, AIX, Sun/NetBSD/OpenBSD, IRIX, and NAS (Network Audio Server).

Eine neue Polypaudio Treiber (libao-Polypen 0.4) wurde hinzugefügt. esd_close () ist jetzt in der ESD-Treiber verwendet. Abtastrate Verträglichkeit wurde in den OSS-Treiber für nForce-Kompatibilität erweitert.
